A FIREPROOF SAFE FOR HOMES AND INDIVIDUALS

Context - explained by ACL:

It weighs 225 pounds and is described as holding as much as a safe weighing three or four times that, and one man has called it the five gallon safe.

The printed page, with the story outlined
[The story on the printed page. The Independent, Elizabeth City, N.C., November 5, 1926, page 1]

An entire new wrinkle in a fireproof safe for the home has just been introduced in Elizabeth City. It looks like an end table for a Davenport or an occasional table, in natural or brown mahogany: but it is in fact a certified fireproof safe that works like the drawer of a filing cabinet and has compartments inside for one's valuable papers, the family jewelry, silver, etc. It weighs 225 pounds but will actually hold as much as a safe weighing three or four times as much. One man has facetiously called it the five gallon safe. This interesting safe is made by the Victor Safe & Lock Co. and is sold by The Independent.
